Edward E Conway Jr., M.D., M.S., FAAP, FCCM is the Division Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) and Chairman of the Lewis M. Fraad Department of Pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center located in Bronx, New York. He is a professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Conway received his BS at Manhattan College and his Master’s Degree in Cell Biology at Fordham University. He attended SUNY Downstate College of Medicine where he received his MD degree, He then completed his internship, residency, chief residency and Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has authored over 160 papers, book chapters and abstracts on a myriad of pediatric topics including several recent ones on COVID-19 and MIS-C in pediatric patinets. He is a contributing author to the AAP Clinical Practice Guideline entitled Maintenance IV Fluids for pediatric patients published in Pediatrics and a senior author of SCCM/AAP combined Guideline entitled PICU Admission and Discharge Criteria.
Dr. Conway is the past Chairman of the Executive Committee on Critical Care for the American Academy of Pediatrics and former Chairperson of the Pediatric Section for the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is currentlyPast Chancellor of the Board of Regents for the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is a senior member of the NYCDOH Pediatric Disaster Preparedness Committee and NYSDOH Emergency Medicine Services for Children Committee. He has served as an advisor to the NYSDOH Advisory Board and Greater New York Hospital Association for Pediatric Sepsis. His particular areas of interest include PCCM education, simulation, traumatic brain injury, and sepsis. He is the 2020 recipinet of the Distinguished Career Award given by the Section on Critical Care by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
