RONI R. RAHMAT, CAPTAIN, BSN, CCRN, USAF
Capt Roni R. Rahmat is the Charge Nurse at 959th IPTS, MICU (3T), Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam-Houston, Texas. His responsibilities include implementing floor assignments, evaluating patient care needs, prioritizing treatment, and maintaining patient flow. He is part of the USAF Critical Care Transport Team, and he is responsible for ECMO/Medical support through air or ground transport. Capt Rahmat's role includes providing trauma-specific patient care such as stabilizing critical patients, interpretation of non-invasive and invasive hemodynamic monitoring values, and lifesaving procedures.
Capt Rahmat is originally from Bandung, Indonesia and moved to Palestine, Illinois in 1997. He entered the Air Force in May 2001 and was trained as an Emergency Technician upon completion of Basic Military Training. He received an Associate degree in registered nurse from Clark State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Urbana University. Over the course of his career, Capt Rahmat has been the recipient of several academic and military awards, to include the Urbana University Most Improved BSN in 2015, Company Grade officer-the-Quarter award at the Squadron level. He was the Critical Care Supervisor in ICU at Wright-Patterson AFB medical center. He was the only enlisted member from Wright-Patterson AFB selected as a recipient of the USAF Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program (NECP) scholarship for the year 2013. He was a member of Wright State University’s USAF ROTC and a member of Urbana University’s Nursing Honor Society. He completed a critical care fellowship at Honor Health Medical Center, Arizona in December 2018. Ground Surgical Training in May 2019, Critical Care Air Transport Team Training in March 2021, and ECMO Specialist Course 2022. He has been on a few deployments in Middle East Asia, Europe, and multiple CONUS ECMO ground transport.
