Dr. Reed has had a varied professional career of over 30 years as a surgeon, multidisciplinary intensivist, disaster, and humanitarian physician. She was instrumental in starting and directing various programs at her institution including bariatric surgery, ECMO, and the biocontainment unit. Dr. Reed was one of the first neurocritical care boarded intensivists in the region. She is active in teaching nationally and internationally as a representative of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She has contributed to several Society's Fundamentals courses as well as publishing in the fields of critical care, disaster, bariatric surgery, and trauma.
