This lecture will discuss venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis for acutely ill medical patients, as well as treatment options for patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and/or pulmonary embolism (PE), and how these treatment options may reduce the risk of recurrent thrombotic events.
