This session will cover the implications of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes that occur with pregnancy, properties of medications that allow them to cross the placenta, medications that should not be administered to the mother based on risk to the fetus, and venous thromboembolism treatment and prophylaxis of the pregnant patient that account for alterations to the volume of distribution.
