Dr. Rajaram has been an academic Critical Care Intensivist since 1998. She obtained her medical degree from University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Masters at John Hopkins School of Public health and completed her fellowship training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Rajaram has been active in leadership of the SCCM Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) curriculum development and has directed courses nationally and internationally since 2006. She served as an Instructor, speaker, and consultant for FCCS and FCCS Obstetrics internationally. She has organized educational conferences as continuous medical education director for several national organizations. She served as Principal and Sub-Investigator for several multicenter clinical trials in Sepsis. She has been involved in regional, national, and international education, medical organizations, and promotion of critical care for years and has several teaching and community service awards including American College of Chest Physicians, Governors Community Service Award in 2004. She is the recipient of the 2021 “Safar Global Partner Award” for her distinguished contributions to SCCM’s achievement of its international priorities.
She has been a reviewer for several medical journals. She has published well and authored over 70 articles, abstracts and book chapters including Cochrane meta-analysis, web-based and regional magazine publications and presented abstracts at national meetings across a wide content area including Critical Care and sleep medicine. She delivered more than 100 regional, national, and international presentations. She edited and co-authored a textbook “Critical Care Procedure book” in 2014. Dr.Rajaram served as a front-line Critical care Intensivist at her Institute during COVID-19 pandemic and published the book “COVID -19 by Cases: A Pandemic Review" in 2021.
