Registered Nurse, Site Team Leader, Tele-Critical Care
Madigan Army Medical Center
Kristina Ieronimakis, RN, CCRN, TNCC, is a critical care nurse at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) and the Tele-Critical Care project leader. Here she strives to provide holistic patient-centered care to active duty soldiers, their dependents, and veterans. She was previously a critical care nurse in the medical-surgical transplant ICU at the University of Washington (UW), a Magnet Hospital located in Seattle. There in her formative years, she expanded evidence-based practices to provide the highest quality of care for her patients. In 2016 she accepted a position at the MAMC critical care unit. Since she has conducted bedside nursing care and spearheaded the tele-critical care (TCC) unit at MAMC as part of the Joint Tele-Critical Care Network: a collaboration between the Army and Navy that fosters TCC support to international military operations. She has also championed patient safety as a leader and mentor in projects aimed at safe delivery of intra-venous piggyback infusions, end-of-life care rituals, critical care journal club, critical care healthy-work environment assessment, staff recognition, and assessment and non-pharmacological management of ICU-delirious patients. For such efforts Mrs. Ieronimakis has received several recognitions to include the Evidence Based Practice and Civilian Service awards. Her goal is to continue to expand tele-critical care capabilities beyond the ICU and promote education that empowers and prepares medical-surgical nurses caring for high acuity patients. In her personal life, Ms. Ieronimakis is an avid gardener and proud mother of two beautiful children whom she raises with her supportive spouse.
