H. Michael Ushay, MD, PhD, FAAP, FCCM is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Interim Chief of the DIvision of Critical Care Medicine in the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from Rutgers College, went on to obtain his MA, MPhil and PhD in Chemistry from Columbia University and then attended UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School from which he graduated with an MD in 1986. He completed internship, residency and chief residency in Pediatrics in the Einstein/Montefiore/Jacobi system in the Bronx and then went to the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center for a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He has practiced Critical Care Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore where he is Medical Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit and Interim Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
His research interests include respiratory physiology, mechanical ventilatory support, medication safety, leadership in medicine and biomedical ethics.
