Having spent 15 years in the IT and software business, Dr. Caridi-Scheible turned to medicine and is now practicing as an intensivist and cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at Emory University Hospital. His clinical expertise include cardiothoracic perioperative care, transthoracic and transesophageal echo, ECMO cannulation and management, and medical and surgical intensive care. He is currently the medical director for the Emory ECMO Center. As an intensivist in the COVID designated units and the Severely Contagious Diseases Unit, he has been taking care of COVID patients since the epidemic reached Atlanta and is active in several related working groups both in-system and regionally. He has also published and spoken on various COVID-related topics locally and nationally.
