Belinda Rivera-Lebron completed her undergraduate and medical school degree in Puerto Rico. Then moved to Boston to pursue an internal medicine internship and residency at the Boston University Medical Center. Subsequently, completed pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. In 2013, she joined the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh. Recently promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine, she specializes in pulmonary hypertension and acute and chronic pulmonary embolism. She is the director of the UPMC Acute Pulmonary Embolus (PE) Team and the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) Program.
Dr. Rivera has published original research manuscripts, abstracts, reviews, electronic publications, book chapters. She is a member of several professional medical associations, including the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. She has delivered talks of numerous sessions at many national and international conferences.
