Natalia Arizmendez, MD, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician completing her critical care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (anticipated graduation June 2022). She is active in the Critical Care Department’s diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts and was appointed the fellowship’s Diversity, Inclusion, Equity Champion. She has presented at the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s 50th Anniversary Annual Congress on Critical Care Health Disparities. She has an invested interest in the social determinants of health and healthcare inequities. Dr. Arizmendez is currently working on a project to evaluate a critical care disparity.Additionally, she continues to show her devotion to the community by collaborating with educational systems to develop a curriculum around Diversity/Equity/Inclusion, mentorship program for undergraduate students, and expand UPMC's recruitment and engagement efforts.
