My name is Andrew Gold, MD MS. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, my Master of Science at Drexel Univerity College of Medicine, and my medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. I completed both my anesthesiology residency and critical care fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the faculty. I split my clinical time between the ICU and the Operating Room. In the ICU, I work in the surgical ICU and Cardiothoracic surgical ICU. My focus in the operating room is anesthesia for thoracic and vascular surgery. I am also part of our liver transplant anesthesia team. My academic focus surrounds point of care ultrasound as I lead the POCUS eductaion for the anesthesia residents and anesthesia and surgical critical care fellows. I live just outside of Philadelphia in Media with my wife Allison, 2 children Parker (age 5) and Gracie (age 2), and dog Panda.
