MAJ Evan Ewers, MD, MPH, MS is an US Army Infectious Diseases/Critical Care physician who currently serves as the ICU Medical Director, Infectious Diseases Service Chief, and director of Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Alexandria, VA. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Ewers attended American University in Washington, DC, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology. He is a graduate of Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. Following medical school, Dr. Ewers completed internal medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. Evan then returned to the National Capital Region for his infectious diseases fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he also earned a Master's of Public Health from USUHS. He completed his critical care fellowship at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA.
Dr. Ewers is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine, and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at USUHS. His research interests include septic shock, antbiotic resistance, COVID-19 and ARDS.
