Joseph L. Nates, MD MBA CMQ MCCM, Deputy Chair of the Critical Care Department, Division of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Medical Director of the Oncologic Intensive Care Units (SICU and MICU) of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. President of the Oncologic Critical Care Research Network (ONCCC-R-NET). He is the Scientific Director of the Iberic and Pan American Federation of Critical Care Societies (FEPIMCTI). He is also Editor of "Oncologic Critical Care" textbook, the first comprehensive treatise on the subject in English, and "Oncología Crítica", the first comprehensive textbook about the subject in Spanish. Dr. Nates led the first two international oncologic critical care symposiums in the country. Dr. Nates is considered a pioneer in the field of oncologic critical care.
