Preeti R. John MD, MPH, FACS, FCCM, CPE, HEC-C is a surgeon, intensivist and Integrated Ethics Program Director at the VA Maryland Health care system in Baltimore.
She completed general surgery residency followed by fellowship training in Trauma & Critical Care and is triple board certified in the following specialties: General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
She is a healthcare ethics consultant (certified by the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities), and serves on the Society of Critical Care Medicine Ethics Committee. She has been appointed to serve as vice-chair of the SCCM Ethics Committee for a two-year term (2022 - 2024).
She is editor of a book titled ‘Being a Woman Surgeon – 60 Women Share Their Stories’ and is on the editorial board of the American Medical Women’s Association’s ‘Literary AMWA’ publication.
