Dr Suarez graduated from Javeriana University School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He then underwent neurology training at Case Western Reserve University and neurocritical care and stroke fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently Professor and Chief Neurosciences Critical Care. Director Precision Medicine Center of Excellence for Neurocritical Care. Departments of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Neurology, and Neurosurgery Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. Past President Neurocritical Care Society. Founding and Past Chair Neurocritical Care Research Network (NCRN). Dr Suarez's areas of research interest are neurocritical care otcomes, neuroprotection and clinical trial development for subarachnoid and intracranial hemorrhage. Dr Suarez was the principal investigator for the NINDS-funded ALISAH Clinical trial, a member of the Executive Committee for the NINDS-funded ATACH 2 clinical trial, and a member of the regulatory committee for the PCORI funded SETPOINT2 clinical trial.
