Wendy R. Greene, MD FACS, FCCM
Dr.Greene received her MD from the Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC. Her postgraduate medical training included a residency in general surgery at Howard University Hospital, a surgical critical care fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center, and a trauma critical care fellowship at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Throughout her career, she has developed unique educational and outreach programs and has served as a board member and chairwoman of many national and international surgical and critical care societies. Currently, she is on the Board of Governors for the American College of Surgeons. Her research interests include outcomes and disparities of surgical and critically ill patients. At Emory University Hospital she serves as the Director of The Acute and Critical Care Surgery Service, as an attending in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, as well as a Quality and Safety representative for surgical patients that are critically ill. As the first African American full professor of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine she has developed and led programs to aid pipeline development and retention of URiM faculty.
