Sheela Pai Cole is a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. She is a member of the cardiac and critical care divisions at the department and passionate about both echocardiographic imaging in the operating room and intensive care unit and teaching perioperative and critical care echocardiography.
She is a member of the writing committee on critical care echocardiography examination with the National Board of Echocardiography, committee member of the Echo Week program committee at the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and program chair for the 2021 annual meeting for the American Society of Echocardiography.
Other professional pursuits include being on the board of the Society for Critical Care Anesthesiologists, 2nd vice chair for the annual meeting oversight committee at the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a voting member on the medical school admissions committee at Stanford.
Her academic interests include imaging for temporary mechanical circulatory support, 3D imaging, acute kidney injury, patient centered communication and physician well-being and burnout.
