Dr. Smith was born and grew up in Richmond, Rhode Island.

Dr. Smith completed PharmD training at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, graduating cum laude in 2008.

Dr. Smith currently works as a clinical pharmacist at Concord Hospital-Laconia in Laconia, New Hampshire where he has been practicing since 2008.

Dr. Smith is also an active member of the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology section of SCCM, particularly with the Research and Scholarship section. He also participated in the ICU Liberation ABCDEF Bundle Improvement Collaborative, and most recently the STOP-VIRUS Learning Collaborative.
