Donna Prentice PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, FCCM, retired Research Scientist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Prentice has been an advanced practice nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, for 36 years serving initially the surgical burn trauma service followed by 20 years in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Barnes- Jewish Hospital. As a research scientist, Dr. Prentice focused her research on pulmonary embolism, capnography, and PICS. Dr. Prentice is passionate about implementation of evidence-based practice at the bedside and mentoring nurses. In addition to authoring several articles she was an editor on a CCRN certification review book. Dr. Prentice obtained her BSN (1979) and MSN (1986) from St. Louis University and her PhD from the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri.
