Jose M. Cardenas, MD, is currently serving as a third year Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow at the University of Florida at Gainesville. Dr. Cardenas earned his medical degree from Centro de Estudios Universitarios Xochicalco in Tijuana, Mexico in 2015, graduated from pediatric residency in 2019 from Texas Tech University at El Paso, and will be starting his Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birminghan on July 2022.
Dr. Cardenas is Board certified in general pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics, his main research interest are in evaluation of disease severity in pediatrics and changes in pediatric infections during COVID-19 pandemic . After fellowship, Dr. Cardenas would like to serve as a faculty member of an academic institution. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, learning about different cultures around the world, and reading self-improvement books.
