Dr. Svetlana Herasevich is a Research Fellow and an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She is a member of METRIC (Multidisciplinary Epidemiology and Translational Research in Intensive Care) Research Group, which is focused on the systematic research and quality improvement initiatives to reduce complications and improve outcomes for critically ill patients.
Dr. Herasevich earned her M.D. degree in Belarus. She moved to the United States and joined Mayo Clinic in 2017. She is an author of 14 peer-reviewed publications. Her current research focuses on refining and evaluating of digital health strategies that reliably stratify patients according to their need for priority attention from critical care clinicians. The goal of her current research is to better understand the providers needs that enable the prioritization of care for ICU patients, and to evaluate the impact of developed digital health strategies on the performance of clinicians caring for populations of critically ill patients. Another focus of her research interests is on evaluating of post-transplant risk factors for acute respiratory distress syndrome development in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Dr. Herasevich is a SCCM member and part of the team working on the AHRQ-funded projects.
