Carolyn A. Magee, PharmD, BCCCP is currently the Medical−Surgical ICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Studies from the University of Kansas and her PharmD from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Carolyn completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency at University of Kentucky HealthCare, Lexington, KY. Her areas of interest include septic shock, sedation, and decompensated liver disease. Her research has been recognized by receiving the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology (CPP) Section Young Pharmacist Investigator Award and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Critical Care Publication of the Year Award, both in 2018. She is actively involved in the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) recently completing a term on the New Practitioner Forum Executive Committee and previously serving on Clinical Practice and Career Development Advisory Groups. She is also engaged in SCCM serving on the Item Writing Committee, CPP Section Research and Membership Committees, and the Carolina’s and Virginia’s Chapter Board of Directors. Carolyn precepts many of the 33+ pharmacy residents at MUSC and serves as an advisor for the PGY1, PGY2 Critical Care, and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residents.
