Halden F. Scott, MD, MSCS is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a Pediatric Emergency Physician at Children’s Hospital Colorado, focused on improving diagnosis and systems of emergency care to prevent and mitigate organ dysfunction and shock in pediatric sepsis. Her clinical and Electronic Health Record-based research has addressed the early, undifferentiated phase of sepsis in children, seeking to improve early diagnosis through clinical and laboratory findings, predictive modeling, and clinical decision support. At the health system level, she has studied the translation of pediatric sepsis guidelines into practice in local and national multi-institutional settings. Her research is funded by AHRQ and NIH, and she has been a member of multiple national and international sepsis committees including the Surviving Sepsis Campaign’s Pediatric Sepsis Guidelines taskforce, the Pediatric Sepsis Definition Taskforce, and the Steering Committee for the Children’s Hospital Association’s Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes quality improvement collaborative.
