Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Attending

Gabriela Centers, MD, MSc, is a pediatric cardiac intensive care physician at Riley Hospital for Children and an Assistant Professor at Indiana University school of medicine. She graduated from Gr. T. Popa School of Medicine, Iasi, Romania, in 2001 and completed a first pediatric residency in Romania then a second pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Children’s Hospital in 2009. She then completed a pediatric critical care fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2012 and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta in 2014. Dr. Centers joined the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University and clinical service at Riley Hospital in 2014. She is board certified in pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric cardiology and has completed a master’s degree in clinical research at Indiana University. Dr. Center’s work has been in developing a point of care ultrasound curriculum in pediatric critical care as well as understanding central venous line associated thrombosis in the cardiac intensive care unit.
