E. Vincent S. Faustino, MD, MHS is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine. He directs the Pediatric Epidemiology and Interventions against THromboembolic Outcomes (PEITHO) Program. The goal of the PEITHO Program is to develop evidence-based strategies that will prevent venous thromboembolism in children. He has conducted observational studies on the epidemiology of venous thromboembolism and its prophylaxis in critically ill children, and risk prediction of venous thromboembolism using clinical variables and biomarkers. He recently completed a multicenter randomized clinical trial of pharmacologic prophylaxis against venous thromboembolism in critically ill children.
