Dr. Jason Vilar, PharmD, BCCCP received his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2013 from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Aurora, Colorado. His post-graduate training consisted of PGY-1 residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During which he has served as a Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed the Pharmacy Postgraduate Teaching Certificate Program. He moved on to complete a PGY-2 specialty residency in Critical Care at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. During which he has served as a Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and completed an additional Pharmacy Postgraduate Teaching Certificate Program.
Dr. Vilar joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2015 as a Clinical Specialist in Critical Care as the Neurocritical Care Specialist within the Neurology Division. He is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS). He has served as a mentor for the research committee within the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology section of SCCM and is an active member of the Pharmacotherapy Of Neurocritical care Series (PONS) subcommittee of NCS. Abstracts by Dr. Vilar have been published in SCCM, ASHP and NCS. Dr. Vilar is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and is a faculty member for the neurocritical care fellowship program at AdventHealth Orlando. His areas of interest include hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, super refractory status epilepticus and anticoagulant/antiplatelet reversal.
