Susan E. Smith, PharmD, BCCCP, BCPS is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and practices as a Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, Georgia. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in 2015 and completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY-2 Critical Care Specialty Pharmacy Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Smith is a co-founding member and Chair of the University of Georgia Critical Care Collaborative (UGAC3), which strives to promote innovative critical care education in the pharmacy curriculum and to conduct clinical research that will improve the outcomes of critically ill patients in Georgia and beyond. Dr. Smith’s research interests are in critical care pharmacy practice models and advancement, the hemodynamic management of septic shock, and critical care education in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.
