Jennifer C. Ginestra, MD, MSHP, is an NRSA Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and an Attending Physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She has advanced training in health services and patient outcomes research, clinical epidemiology, and biostatistics, including applied regression, time-to-event models, and causal inference methodology. She is interested in the intersections between research, operations, and health policy in the care of critically ill patients. Her current research is focused on improving the quality and timeliness of care delivery for hospital-acquired sepsis and acute respiratory failure. Dr. Ginestra received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors at The University of Texas at Austin. She then received her medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her internal medicine residency fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a master's degree in health policy from Penn, during the completion of which she was a Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Safety (CHIPS) fellow. Dr. Ginestra sees patients in the medical intensive care unit, and on the critical care consult and rapid response service, and serves on the Penn Sepsis Alliance.
