I am recognized for leading the Project that performed the first simultaneous CABG and bilateral lung transplant in the world at Mayo Clinic and for initiating the Lung Transplant for COVID disease Program.
Soon after completing Fellowship in Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant at Stanford University joined The Ohio State University to restart their lung transplant program. Helped increase volume of the program from 0 to 40 in just 2 years despite having large volume programs in our backyard. Later joined Mayo Clinic Arizona as the Interim Medical Director of its Lung Transplant and Medical Director Larynx Trachea Transplant Program. Trained on Ex VIVO Lung perfusion at Toronto General Hospital and have been managing marginal lungs on EVLP at Lung Bioengineering site at Mayo Clinic Florida. Closely involved with several projects with different teams in Mayo Clinic Florida to grow the lung transplant program to 50 transplants/year and to make it more efficient. I have been closely involved with management of patients diagnosed with COVID and have transplanted patients who had not recovered from their disease. I am UNOS certified and have represented Mayo Clinic on the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) Thoracic Transplantation Committee and UNOS Lung Review Board.
I am also an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management, graduating with great distinction. I have also contributed to the Mayo Clinic 2030 vision with contribution of my platform strategy models to the institution and have been a faculty at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and love to teach.
