Stephanie Helman PhD(c), RN, CCRN-K, CCNS is a Predoctoral Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, and is in her fourth year of scholarly study. Her research interests are focused on 1) neonatal unintentional hypothermia after open heart surgery, 2) predicting patient instability in the ICU, and 3) leveraging clinical expertise to optimize predictive technologies. She was recently awarded the F31 Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Fellow Award for her research focused on neonatal hypothermia. When she is not focusing her time on nursing science, she is a busy mother of 2 (soon to be 3) chidlren. She also enjoys entertaining, traveling, and exploring new learning opportunities with her children.
