Kathryn Higdon, MD is currently a third-year pediatric critical care fellow at Children's Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born in Michigan and grew up in Ann Arbor. Dr. Higdon graduated from Cornell University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. She then attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, graduating in 2016 after completing her clinical rotations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Higdon stayed in Grand Rapids to complet her pediatric residency at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in 2019. She continued her training in Milwaukee and will graduate from her fellowship in June 2022. Dr. Higdon will start her first attending intensivist position at University of Missouri Healthcare in Columbia, Missouri. Her research interests include using mesenteric NIRS to guide early introduction of enteral nutrition in critical illness, large scale data analysis, and the utility of mathematical modeling in medicine. Her other career interests include mentorship and education of medical trainees, and she hopes to take a role in medical training leadership in the future.
