Currently the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care and Director of Pediatric Inpatient Services at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn NY and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Pediatric intensivist with more than 20 years of professional experience. Successfully developed a state-of-the-art pediatric intensive care unit for a community hospital serving a largely underserved area of North Brooklyn with general pediatric critical care services, regional pediatric transport, and pediatric sedation. Co-founder and President of a non-profit organization Pediatric Universal Life-Saving Effort (PULSE) since 2010 embracing the ambition to establish sustainable pediatric intensive care services for critically ill children in developing countries with limited recourses. Leader of over 25 pediatric medical missions for staff and capacity building in Haiti, Nepal and Kenya, El Salvador, and Nigeria. We are currently establishing a formal pediatric critical care training program in Kano Nigeria, supported by Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and the Bayero University School of Health Sciences.
