Katherine Cashen DO, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensivist at Duke University Children's Hospital. My clinical expertise and research interests are focused on the care of children with critical illness and congenital heart disease. My research interest and current work are focused on studying the hemostatic changes in pediatric ECMO patients using global hemostasis assays to predict bleeding and thrombosis during ECMO. In addition to this work, I am a Steering Committee Member for the research group referred to as Collaborative Research for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (CoRe-PCICS) and through this organization have collaborated with other researchers and produced several peer-reviewed publications from each project.
