Jen-Ting (Tina) Chen, MD, is an Attending Physician of Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since coming to Montefiore in 2015, her clinical focus has been primarily on acute respiratory failure, specifically acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and volume resuscitation in patients with shock.
In 2001, Dr. Chen received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Chemistry from Wellesley College. Following this, she attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 2006. She then began her postgraduate training at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), with a year-long internship in Family Medicine. She next traveled to Taiwan, attending an apprenticeship in Emergency Medicine at Shuang Ho Hospital, Taipei Medical University. Dr. Chen then returned to CUMC for a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Since 2017, Dr. Chen has been part of the Clinical Research Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her research focus is on the integration of data science and machine learning to facilitate the early diagnosis and management of critically ill patients. Her work has been published in multiple journals, and she has received several honors for her research, including an Alvan T. and Viola D. Fuller Research Fellowship from the American Cancer Society, the Staley Summer Awards for Cancer?Related Research from Wellesley College, and Sigma Xi from the Science Research Society.
Dr. Chen is board certified in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
