St. Luke's Hospital
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
My name is Jennifer Axelband. I am Critical Care and Emergency Medicine board certified physician practicing with a neurocritical care focus for more than 10 years and recently UCNS NCC board certified. My practice is multidisciplinary encompassing medical, surgical, cardiothoracic and neurologic critical care. I severe as director for neurocritical care and network critical care education director via graduate medical education for both student, residents and fellows. I coordinate all education and skills sessions and organize learners rotations across 5 clinical teaching campuses. Lastly, I am an emergency physician. This is where it all began and I love my practice as an emergency physician.
I value my roots as an osteopathic and an emergency medicine physician. I have been active in the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians since residency and this past year was elected to the board of directors as treasurer. Since fellowship I have been active with SCCM and proudly represent the osteopathic section as the chair elect.
Outside of my hospital work, I serve as associate medical director for Gift of Life OPO in Philadelphia, PA. I have been with GOL for more than 10 years as a collaborating physician, educator and policy board member. My work with GOL has been rewarding and humbling.
