Adewale Olayode, MD is an Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine at The Institute of Critical Care Medicine, ICAHN school of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He graduated from the University of Lagos, College of Medicine, Nigeria. He was opportuned to work in clinical and research Medicine in Nigeria and Trinidad before moving to the United states. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at Harlem Hospital New York. He then completed his Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. He has been a practicing physician since 2002, with extensive experience extending from Africa, the Caribbean and the USA. His main clinical and research focus is on critically ill patients from diverse etiologies (Surgical and Medical) with special interests focused on improving safety and techniques of bedside invasive vascular access procedures. He has a strong affinity for teaching and invests a lot of personal time in resident and fellowship education/academics. He is the recipient of multiple distinguished teaching awards including the UCONN HEALTH Internal Medicine Department Aldo Bellucci Award for excellence in Teaching and Harlem Hospital Appreciation Award in recognition of teaching excellence and dedication to the Internal Medicine residency program
