Gretchen Santana Cepero, M.D. is an Internal Medicine resident physician at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and attended medical school at the University of Louisville which is located in her hometown. She was born in Cuba and is the first in her family to become a physician, and she enjoys Cuban culture. Her hobbies include baking and going on hikes with her German shepherd. She is interested in Critical Care and Rheumatology, and enjoys medicine that involves putting together a puzzle. She is one of the leaders in two ongoing quality improvement projects, and volunteers at a women's health clinic. She has also won an Outstanding Educator award for her devotion to teaching medical students throughout different rotations. Gretchen plans to apply to have an academic career where she can encourage others to strive to maintain their curiosity for learning.
