Fariborz Rezai, MD FCCP FCCM, is the Director Medical, Surgical and Neurosurgical ICU and Director of Critical Care Services at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, RWJ Barnabas Health in Livingston, NJ. Dr. Rezai is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at Saint George’s University School of Medicine, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Humanities at Drew University School of Graduate Studies in Madison, New Jersey. After graduating with High Honors in the Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he earned his MD degree at Saint George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his medical residency and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Neurocritical Care and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr Rezai is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and the
Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). He is currently the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He has given over 1000 lectures at the local, national and international level. He has presented multiple abstracts at the American College of Chest Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine and Surgical Infection Society. In addition, he has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. His research interest is anticoagulation, hyponatremia, sepsis and neurocritical care management.
