The session was created by SCCM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The aim of this session is to discuss challenges faced by practitioners who may feel as if they are the only racial, gender, religious, or ethnic minority practicing in a critical care setting. Speakers will also touch on the role of cross-sectionality in advancing careers.

Learning Objectives:

Explore challenges in career advancement faced by religious, racial, and gender minorities
Discuss strategies to empower SCCM members who identify as part of a marginalized group (religious, ethnic or gender identity)
Review the importance of being an ally to critical care team members who are members of marginalized groups
