Kevin Downes, MD, is an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a faculty member of theCenter for Clinical Pharmacology and the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE), and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Downes is also the clinical director of Solid Organ Transplant Infectious Diseases for the Division of Infectious Diseases at CHOP. His research focuses on antimicrobial pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), antibiotic-associated acute kidney injury, and antimicrobial stewardship. Dr. Downes has particular interests in individualized dose optimization of antimicrobials in children and examining the roles of biomarkers in the management of children with sepsis and other infectious diseases.
