This year in review on behalf of SCCM's Research Section will focus on three timely subtopics: research design strategies during a pandemic, the role of preprint servers, and strategies for interacting with the media.

Learning Objectives:

Review arguments in favor of Bayesian platform strategies versus traditional frequentist trials and the successes and failures of each during the pandemic
Discuss the benefits and drawbacks of preprints (full research manuscripts that have not yet undergone peer review)
Address a strategic approach to engaging the media and how to message effectively without being misquoted
